LOCAL LAW 3 OF THE YEAR l987
A Local Law to amend Local Law No. l of l987 TO CHANGE THE PROCEDURE FOR THE APPOINTMENT
OF A TOWN CODE ENFORCEMENT OFFICIAL
Be it enacted by the Town Board of the Town of Hancock as follows:
SECTION 1 FINDINGS
The Town Board of the Town of Hancock has recently adopted the responsibility for
administration and enforcement of the Uniform Fire and Building Code, but has been unable to
come to an agreement on the appointment of a code enforcement official. The Town Board finds
that any further delay in the appointment of a code enforcement official will cause unnecessary
hardships to the residents and landowners of the Town of Hancock.
SECTION 2 PART TO BE AMENDEDThe following indicates the section of Local Law 1 of l987, adopted May 6, l987, to be changed.
The language to be deleted is bracketed [ ] and the new language is underlined_________.
Section l. Designation of Code Enforcement Official As Public Official
There is hereby designated in the Town of Hancock a Public Official to be known as the
Code Enforcement Official, who shall be appointed by [the Supervisor with the approval]
resolution of the Town Board at compensation to be fixed by it.
SECTION 3 EFFECTIVE DATEThis Local Law shall take effect immediately upon filing with the Secretary of State.
I hereby certify that the local law annexed hereto, designated as Local Law No 3 of l987 of
the Town of Hancock was duly passed by the Town Board on July l, l987 in accordance with the
applicable provisions of law.
I hereby certify that I have compared the preceding local law with the original on file in
this office and that the same is a correct transcript therefrom and of the whole of such original
local law, and was finally adopted in the manner indicated in paragraph l above.
